To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on October 9, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twenty-eighth day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian nation against the Russian large-scale invasion has begun.

The enemy is attempting to hold temporarily occupied territories, concentrating efforts on attempts to disrupt counter-offensive actions of the Defense Forces at certain sectors, while also periodically conducting offensive operations. Thus, over the past day, almost 40 combat encounters took place. The most tense situation was observed in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, where our defenders repelled more than 30 enemy attacks.

The adversary is shelling positions of our troops along the line of contact, conducting engineering equipment of defensive lines and positions at certain sectors, and carrying out aerial reconnaissance with UAVs.

The enemy continues to violate international humanitarian law, laws, and customs of war. Thus, during the past day, the occupiers carried out three rocket and 26 air strikes, conducted more than 75 shelling from multiple launch rocket systems. At night, Russian occupiers cynically struck residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. Information about casualties is being clarified, but it is already known that dozens of people were killed or injured.

In addition, over 30 populated areas suffered from artillery fire, including Kharkiv, Chasiv Yar, Popivka, Grabove, Makеїvka, Spіrne, Bіlohіrovka, Іvanhrad, Opytne, Klišchyvka, Novomikhailіvka, Vuhledar, Nikopol, Urozhaye and Davydiv Brid.

There remains a threat of air and missile strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine.

On the Volynian and Polesian directions, the situation has not changed significantly.

At other sectors, the enemy carried out shelling with mortars and field artillery in areas around populated places:

on the Northern direction — Lypivka and Mykolaїvka of Chernihiv Oblast as well as Lisne and Ryasne of Sumy Oblast;

on the Slobozhanskyi direction — Chervona Zorya, Veterinarne, Strelcha, Krasnoe, Ogіrceve, Hlibokе, Zelenе, Staritsya, Terova and Chugunivka;

on the Kramatorskyi direction — Pereshotravnеvе, Novoyegorіvka, Makеїvka, Novoе, Terny, Serебryanка, Bіlohіrovka and Hryhorіvka;

on the Bakhmutskyi direction — Verhnyokam’yanske, Yakovlivka, Bakhmutskе, Bахmут, Іvanhrad, Zaytsevе, Vershina, Zelenopіllya and Opytne;

on the Avdiivskyi direction — Pereymayskе, Vodiane, Krasnogorіvka, Mariinka and Novomikhailіvka.

On the Novopavlivskiy and Zaporizhzhian directions, infrastructure in more than 25 populated places suffered from enemy shelling. Among them — Solodkе, Zelenе Pole, Novosіlkа, Vuhledar, Pobеda. At the same time, as a result of the strike by Defense Forces on an enemy concentration of troops, more than 20 wounded enemy soldiers were confirmed and transported to a local hospital in Tokmak city.

According to available information, in Melitopol district of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, under the guise of searching for and fighting against partisans, occupation forces are conducting searches and thefts of private cars from garages cooperatives in the area.

On the Southern Buzkyi direction, areas around more than 45 populated places suffered shelling that is near the line of contact. Among others — Sukhy Stavok, Kvіtnеve, Mирne, Zorя and Terovі Podі.

The enemy and his accomplices are fleeing in fear of the successes of Ukraine's Defense Forces. Representatives of the occupation authorities of New Kakhovka are evacuating their families to temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. According to available information, on October 7 a column with 12 minibuses departed for Sevastopol city. A similar situation is observed in Luhansk Oblast as well. Thus, from Starobilsk they started evacuating collaborators to Luhansk.

Occupants continue to pressure small and medium businesses on temporarily occupied territories. Since the beginning of October, tax inspection of the Russian Federation has begun inspections with further raiding takeover of companies with identified violations in Gorlivka city. This applies particularly to entrepreneurs who did not want to re-register their companies according to Russian legislation.

Over the past day, subdivisions of Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks around populated places Terne, Sолedar, Bахmutskе, Bахmут, Іvanhrad, Pereymayskе, Opytne, Nevelske and Pobеda.

Aviation of the Defense Forces inflicted over 30 strikes. In particular, 24 — on areas of concentration of troops, weapons and military equipment as well as nine — on enemy air defense missile systems. Additionally, our subdivisions of anti-aircraft defense shot down five UAVs.

Rocket forces and artillery inflicted two command posts, nine areas of concentration of troops, weapons and military equipment, three ammunition depots and 11 other important objects during the past day.
