Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 22, 2022, regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

The fifty-eighth day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the Russian military aggression has begun.

The Russian Federation continues its large-scale armed aggression against our state and carries out rocket-bombardment strikes on objects of military and civilian infrastructure.

On the Volyn and Polesie Directions the enemy did not conduct active operations, signs of forming offensive groupings were not detected. Measures are being taken to strengthen border protection in the western and northwestern directions. Air defense forces have been transferred to a reinforced regime for rotation duty. Security has been increased around headquarters, communication nodes, military garrisons, arsenals, bases, and storage facilities for weapons, military equipment, and fuel-oil materials.

On the Slobodskiy Direction the enemy with forces up to seven battalion tactical groups from the 6th Combined Arms Army of Baltic and Northern Fleet coastal troops continues partially to block the city of Kharkiv, carrying out fire strikes on our units and critical infrastructure objects.

On the Izium Direction the enemy has concentrated up to twenty-five battalion tactical groups from the 1st Tank Army, 20th and 35th Combined Arms Armies, and 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District airborne forces for conducting combat operations.

The enemy is making attempts to launch an offensive towards the populated area of Zavody. It has advanced into the northern outskirts of Dibrova and is trying to consolidate on the achieved line.

On the Donetsk and Tauride Directions occupiers intensified combat operations along the entire line of contact throughout the day. The enemy is carrying out assault actions in the area of Zariichne village with forces up to a battalion, attempting an offensive towards Rubizhnoe.

Defensive battles are ongoing against the enemy towards Novotoshkivske and Popasna villages.

The enemy continues to attempt artillery-supported assaults in the area of Mariinka village.

At the same time, the enemy is reinforcing its forces on the Zaporizhzhya Direction. Logistics support measures for occupation troops are ongoing.

On the Southern Bug Direction the enemy continues to carry out fire impact on units of the Defense Forces and attempted reconnaissance by combat in the area of Trudolyubivka, suffered losses, withdrew to previously occupied positions.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. According to available information, on April 20 this year, a new batch of wounded Russian military servicemen (about 220 people) and over 50 bodies of dead mercenaries were delivered to the central district hospital in the city of Novoaidar.

Also, according to available information, the personnel of the 136th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade's battalion tactical group from the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, which was operating on the Kurakhivskiy Direction, suffered significant losses in manpower (up to 250 people) and lost up to ten units of multiple rocket launchers and artillery systems.

Also, according to available information, the personnel strength of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division from the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, which has been involved in combat operations on Ukrainian territory, did not receive so-called «combat» pay for March. As a result, military servicemen are expressing dissatisfaction and outrage.

In order to prevent disruption of the spring conscription campaign on temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, from April 30 this year, movement in and out of the peninsula by occupiers will be prohibited.

On temporarily occupied territories, enemy units continue to block the movement of local population, loot, and artificially exacerbate humanitarian crises — they are destroying critical infrastructure objects and blocking deliveries of humanitarian cargo from Ukrainian territory. There have been cases of shootings of civilian populations and volunteers.

On the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past day ten attacks by Russian occupiers were repelled, six tanks, eight units of armored vehicles, fifteen units of automotive equipment, four artillery systems were destroyed.

By air forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with anti-aircraft troops of ground and marine infantry assault forces and National Guard over the previous day fifteen aerial targets were destroyed: nine UAVs, three aircraft, and three helicopters.
