One of the four UEFA Playmakers centers in Rivne Oblast is located in Perebrodi village of Mylyatska community. The activities within the project by the Ukrainian Football Association and Rivne Oblast Football Association take place at a local lyceum, with efforts from coaches Mykola Yakunets and Oksana Chmunevych.

The coach shares her impressions: "I have been working in this field relatively recently, so for me, this project is first and foremost an invaluable experience that will be useful in my future professional activities. I am sincerely grateful to the UAF and ROAF for the opportunity to engage in football, which has already become my favorite game. Looking forward to new meetings."

Head of the ROAF Oleg Kucher notes: "The Perebrodi Lyceum is the most remote hub on the map of Rivne Oblast, where girls' football is successfully developing. I am completely satisfied with the work of local coaches who give a boost to their wards' successful performances at competitions of various levels. In particular, the introduction of the UEFA Playmakers program reveals new young stars, lays the foundation for physical qualities, fosters love for football and encourages further engagement."

Project volunteer Yana Ryaba shares: "As a schoolgirl, I got acquainted with football during physical education classes, but that was in my teenage years. Now together with the girls, I dive into an incredible world of football emotions and Disney movies entertainment that the UEFA Playmakers project brings together. I see joy and fascination in their eyes; I share these feelings with them. I can say that I am completely satisfied with participating in this project."

Young participant Polina F. admits: "I like attending the sessions. It's very interesting there. We are told stories about Disney characters, and then we try to imitate their actions. We run a lot, jump around, do many ball exercises. This is really fun and interesting."

The goals of the UEFA Playmakers program, implemented by the Ukrainian Football Association:

  • to introduce girls to football by creating an environment where fun, friends and football are at the center;
  • to implement a new individual coaching approach that uses imagination (inspired by stories and Disney characters) as a tool for training and acquiring football skills;
  • to refine girls' life skills, basic movement skills, and teach them the basics of football to foster lifelong love for the sport.
