Neom Beach Soccer Cup 2024: Ukraine women's beach soccer team falls to Brazil, will compete for third place

Today, Ukraine's women's beach soccer team played their final group-stage match at the Neom Beach Soccer Cup 2024, an international tournament in Saudi Arabia.

After a 1:6 loss to Spain and a 4:2 victory over England in previous matches, the game against Brazil determined the tournament's second finalist. Spain had already secured their place in the final.

The match began strongly for Ukraine, with an own goal by Dani Barbosa followed by a strike from Yuliya Kostyuk, giving Ukraine a 2:0 lead. Brazil responded late in the first period, with Lele Lopes reducing the deficit to 2:1.

The second period was the opposite of the first. Brazil scored twice to take the lead, but Anastasiya Terekh leveled the score to 3:3 near the end of the period.

In the final period, Oleksandra Skybina briefly restored Ukraine's lead, but two more goals from Dani Barbosa secured a 5:4 victory for Brazil. With this result, Ukraine will face England in the third-place match, while Spain and Brazil will battle in the final.
