Danylo Sikan: "It was our first Olympic appearance, hopefully not the last"

Forward of the Ukraine Olympic team, Danylo Sikan commented on the football match against Argentina at the 2024 Olympics.

On July 30, the Ukraine Olympic team played their third match of the group stage at the 2024 Olympic football tournament, losing to Argentina (0:2) and ending their run in the competition. After the game, team captain Danylo Sikan shared his thoughts.

"We could have done more, but we fell a little short. However, life goes on, and we return to work in our clubs. Ruslan Rotan wished us success and encouraged us to change our mentality.

We come back with one victory and two losses. This is an experience that will only help me in the future. This is our first time participating in a tournament like the Olympics, and I hope it won't be the last.

Being the captain? It's a responsibility, of course, but it doesn't weigh on me. I am responsible for the team on the pitch, for its character, and for some tactical actions. We are one team, working only for victory," said Danylo Sikan.
