Ukraine Olympic team defeats Panama at tournament in France

Today, on June 8th, Ukraine's Olympic team continued their participation in the Tournoi Maurice Revello in France with a match against Panama.

Previously, Ruslan Rotan's squad had defeated Indonesia (3:0) and Italy (4:0). This time, the blue-yellows faced Panama in Fos-sur-Mer.

In the first minute of the match, Voloshyn intercepted the ball and entered the penalty area, but his shot was deflected onto the post by the goalkeeper. Our team dominated the game and regularly attempted shots on goal. In the 25th minute, Voloshyn had another good attempt. Just before the break, he narrowly missed over the crossbar, and Krasnopir also squandered a good chance. The Panamanian team only occasionally counterattacked, managing to keep a clean sheet in the first half.

At the beginning of the second half, all Ukrainian shots were blocked by the opponents. In the 62nd minute, the blue-yellows finally scored, with Voloshyn finding the net after a setup from Mykhailenko. Panama nearly equalized immediately, but Orellana missed the target. In the 66th minute, Yarmolyuk, who had recently come on as a substitute, increased Ukraine's lead, capitalizing on a goalkeeper's error. The teams then exchanged on-target shots from Mendez and Khlan. Ultimately, Ukraine secured their third consecutive victory with a 2:0 win.
