On March 20, Ukraine learned its opponents for the football tournament at the Olympics-2024. As a fourth seed, it drew Argentina, Morocco, and the third Asian team, which turned out to be Iraq. The blue-and-yellow team will play their group matches on July 24, 27, and 30.

Today, May 9, the last participant was determined — it is Guinea, which in a playoff between fourth-placed teams from Africa and Asia defeated Indonesia (1-0).

The format of the Olympic tournament is traditional: competition in four groups with four teams each, followed by a knockout stage including quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place match and final (September 9, Paris, "Parc des Princes").

We remind you that last summer, defeating France (3-1) in the Euro-2023 quarter-final (U-21) and securing a place in the semi-finals, our team achieved an historic success — it earned Ukraine's first-ever qualification for the Olympic football tournament. Along with Ukraine, Spain and Israel also secured their spots at the 2024 Games through the Euro-2023.

Today, all 16 participants of the men’s football tournament at the 2024 Olympics are known. They will compete from July 24 to August 9 in seven cities across France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Nice and Nantes. According to the rules, players born after January 1, 2001 are eligible to participate. Additionally, each team can include up to three players who are older than this age.

In total, 16 teams will take part in the tournament: France as hosts, three from Europe (Ukraine, Spain, Israel), three from Africa (Morocco, Egypt, Mali), three from Asia (Japan, Uzbekistan, Iraq), two from South America (Paraguay, Argentina), two from CONCACAF (USA, Dominican Republic), one from Oceania (New Zealand), and the winner of the playoff between fourth-placed teams from Africa and Asia (Guinea).
