The draw for the final tournament of the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship has taken place, determining the opponents for the Ukraine U-17 team.
On March 12th, under the guidance of Yuriy Moroz, our team concluded their campaign in the elite qualifying round of Euro 2024 for players under 17 with a victory over Slovakia (3:0). Considering their earlier triumphs over Greece (2:0) and Switzerland (3:0), they emerged as winners of Group 4, securing their ticket to the final tournament.
The forum, featuring 16 teams, will be held from May 20th to June 5th, 2024, in Cyprus, across six stadiums in Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Paralimni, and Limassol. The knockout stage, following the group stage, will see quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final on June 5th in Limassol.
Cyprus and the seven top-ranked teams among the group winners in the elite qualifying round were seeded for the draw. The criteria for seeding were based on:
Therefore, with the best performance among all group winners, accumulating nine points and a goal difference of 8-0, Ukraine was seeded during the draw.
As a result of the draw, the blue-yellow team landed in Group A, where they will face Cyprus, Serbia, and Czechia.
Results of the draw for the final tournament of Euro 2024 (U-17):
Group A: Cyprus, Ukraine, Serbia, Czechia.
Group B: Denmark, Austria, Croatia, Wales.
Group C: Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, Poland.
Group D: France, Portugal, Spain, England.
It's worth noting that this will be the 11th final tournament of the European Championship for the Ukraine U-17 team.
