To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on February 9, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country. 

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and sixteenth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, using tactics of terror, carrying out missile and air strikes, shelling with multiple rocket launchers not only military targets but also numerous civilian objects in our country.

During the past day, 65 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out 13 missile and 66 air strikes, conducted 96 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries among civilians, including children. Multi-story buildings and private homes, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were damaged.

Air strikes hit Staritsya, Ivanivka, Kislivka in the Kharkiv region; Bihorivka in the Luhansk region; Konstantinovka, Oleksandrivske, Avdiyivka, Kurakhove, Novomikhailivka, Vodyane, Stary Mayoriske, Rivnopil in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Orihiv in the Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Chervoniy Mayak in the Kherson region.

Over 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk front, our defenders repelled five attacks near populated areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv region, where the enemy attempted to break through our defenses.

On the Lyman front Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks by the enemy near Terny in Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut front, defensive forces repelled four attacks by the enemy near Ivanivske and Klyshchyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiyivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiyivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their positions, inflicting heavy losses on aggressors. Thus, defensive forces repelled 19 attacks by the enemy in the vicinity of Avdiyivka and seven more attacks near Novomikhailivka and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the past day.

On the Mariupol front, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyevka, Pobedy and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region, where 16 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk front the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, defensive forces repelled an attack by occupiers west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson front, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold positions and repel assaults by occupation forces. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to dislodge our units from occupied positions. Thus, over the past day, the enemy carried out two unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, our soldiers actively inflict casualties and damage on occupation troops in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes against seven areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted blows on two ammunition depots, two artillery systems and one logistics hub of the enemy.
