To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on February 1, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The seven hundred and eighth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore laws and customs of war, using a tactic of terror, carrying out missile and air strikes, shelling with multiple rocket launchers not only military targets but also numerous civilian objects in our country.

During the past day, 66 combat encounters took place. In total, the enemy carried out 8 missile and 94 air strikes, conducted 97 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are injured among civilians. Residential private and multi-story buildings, educational institutions, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another attack using 4 Shahed-136/131 strike drones. With the forces and means of Ukraine's air defense system, two enemy drones were destroyed.

Air strikes hit: Street, Middle Buda in Sumy region; Great Burluk, Kolyadyne, Kyslivka, Synkivka in Kharkiv region; Nadia, Seredynske Forest, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Terny, Chasiv Yar, New York, Ocheretinе, Oleksandrопіль, Avdiivka, Novomikhailivka, Vodyane, Urozhayne, StaroMayorivske in Donetsk region; Bilyhorod, Robotyne in Zaporizhia region; Krynytsi, Berislav, Novoberezan, Sablykivka, Kachkarivka, Mylove, Chervoniy Mayak, Shlyakhove in Kherson region.

More than 140 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on Volyn and Polesie fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from moving into threatening directions, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on Kupyansk front, our defenders repelled 6 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front Ukrainian forces repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of Terny, Yamopolivky and Tor'skyi, Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut front defensive forces repelled 6 enemy attacks near Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klyschivka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our troops firmly hold their defense, inflicting heavy losses on aggressors. Thus, during the past day, defensive forces repelled 12 attacks near Avdiivka and another 7 attacks near Pervomayske and Nevelskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol front Ukrainian troops continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, where 10 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk front Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack by occupiers south of Zolotoye Niva in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya front defensive forces repelled 8 enemy attacks north of Pryvytne, west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhia region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on Kherson front, defensive forces continue to hold positions and repel assaults by occupation troops. Despite heavy losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. Thus, during the past day, the enemy made three assault attempts, none of which were successful.

Our troops continue active actions inflicting casualties and equipment losses on occupiers along the entire front line.

During the day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes against 15 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and two air defense missile complexes of the enemy. Also, with the forces and means of Ukraine's air defense system, one guided aerial missile Kh-59 was destroyed.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted blows on 5 artillery systems, 1 ammunition depot and 4 air defense systems of the enemy.
