To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on January 31, 2024 regarding Russia's invasion of our country. 

Glory to Ukraine! The seventh hundredth day of Russia’s large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, employing a tactic of terror, carrying out missile and air strikes, shelling both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

Over the past day, 88 combat encounters took place. In total, the enemy carried out 9 missile and 99 aerial attacks, conducted 129 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Residential private and multi-story buildings, schools, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another attack using 20 Shahed-136/131 type drones. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 14 enemy drones.

Aerial attacks were inflicted on: Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Popivka in Sumy Oblast; Ustynivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Novoyegorivka, Nevskoje, Serhiyivske forest district in Luhansk Oblast; Terny, Kolyadyzhye, Klyshchyovka, Kostenkino, Oleksandropol, Ocheretyno, Novobakhmutivka, Berdytsi, Orlovka, Avdiivka, Tonikyne, Georgiyivka, Novomykhailivka, Staromayorske, Rivenpole in Donetsk Oblast; Mala Tokmachka, Robotine, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Kachkarivka, Chervoniy Mayak, Tyaginka in Kherson Oblast.

More than 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts were under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «North» on the Volynian and Polesie fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk front, Ukrainian forces repelled 5 enemy attacks near Sinkyvka, Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman front Ukrainian soldiers repelled 7 attacks by occupiers in the areas of Terny and Yamopolivka, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, defensive forces repelled 6 enemy attacks near Bogdanivka and Klyshchyovka, Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Tavria» on the Avdiyivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiyivka. Our soldiers steadfastly maintain their defense, inflicting significant losses on aggressors. Thus, over the past day, defensive forces repelled 26 attacks in the area of Avdiyivka and another 11 attacks near Perevomayske and Nevelskoye, Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol front, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyivka, Pobedy and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast, where 16 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia fronts, the enemy did not carry out offensive (assault) operations.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Odessa» on the Kherson front, defensive forces continue to hold positions and repel assaults by occupying troops. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to dislodge our units from occupied positions. Thus, over the past day, the enemy carried out 15 unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers actively inflict casualties on occupiers in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Over the past day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes against 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 air defense missile complexes of the enemy.

Units of rocket troops inflicted blows on 1 area of concentration of weapons and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots, 9 artillery systems and 1 radar station of the enemy.
