To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 8, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and fiftieth third day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Over the past day, 89 combat engagements took place.

In total, the enemy carried out 3 rocket and 57 air strikes, conducted 47 artillery attacks on our positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there were casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure suffered damage and destruction.

Over the past day, Russian occupiers carried out an airstrike against Ukraine, using 21 combat drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. The air defense forces of Ukraine destroyed 17 enemy drones.

Air strikes were inflicted on: Synykhivka, Petro-Pavlivka, Kucherivka, Podol, Kurilivka, Kyslivka, Pishchane in the Kharkiv region; Seredynske forest in the Luhansk region; Viimykha, Oleksandr-Shulhtyne, Toretsk, Pivdenne, Avdiyivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region; Kopany in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Over 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 enemy attacks near Synykhivka, Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman front defensive forces repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinity of the populated area of Terny, Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut front our soldiers repelled 24 enemy attacks in the areas of Bogdanivka, Ivanivske, Klyshchyivka and Andriyivka, Donetsk region. The defensive forces of Ukraine continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating on gained positions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The defensive forces successfully repelled 30 attacks by the enemy in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, south of Tonenkyi and Pervomaisk, Donetsk region.

On the Mariupol front defensive forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Mariupol and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 14 attacks.

On the Shakhtarsk front the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia front defensive forces repelled 8 attacks by the enemy in the areas west of Verbove and Robotino, Zaporizhzhia region.

At the same time on the Melitopol front, the defensive forces of Ukraine continue active operations to inflict losses on occupying troops in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson front, the defensive forces continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, continuing counter-battery fire and inflicting artillery strikes on enemy rear areas.

Over the past day, aviation of the defense forces carried out 5 strikes in areas where enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment are concentrated.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage on 1 station for radio-electronic warfare of the enemy.
