Note to attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 16, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six-hundredth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue to conduct defense operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, step by step liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating at achieved lines.

Over the past day, nearly 70 combat engagements took place.

On the night of October 16, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine from several directions, using ballistic weapons, guided air-to-ground missiles, and strike drones.

In total, one Iskander-M ballistic missile, five Kh-59 guided air-to-ground missiles, and twelve Shahed-136/131 strike drones were used.

Guided air-to-ground missiles attacked northern and eastern regions of Ukraine; "Shaheds" the enemy directed in various directions, including to the west.

As a result of combat operations by air forces, two guided air-to-ground Kh-59 missiles and eleven Shahed-136/131 drones were destroyed.

Overall, the enemy inflicted 10 missile strikes and 87 air strikes, carried out 68 artillery attacks on our military positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

Air strikes hit Hremincha, Halahanyvka in Chernihiv Oblast; Pyskan, Druzheluvka, Chernenkha in Kharkiv Oblast; Nadia, Bihorivka, Seredynskyi Forest, Novoluhivka in Luhansk Oblast; Hryhorivka, Siversk, Spirene, Klyschyvka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Dilievka, Avdiivka, Ocheretine, Stepole, Mariinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast; Burgunka, Odradokamianka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Stepanivka, Mikilske, Kherson in Kherson Oblast; Ivanivka in Mykolayiv Oblast.

Russian occupiers shelled over 110 populated areas of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions with the entire spectrum of artillery weapons.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the situation remains unchanged.

On the Severian and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian warriors repelled more than 15 enemy attacks around Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.

On the Bakhmut direction, our defenders repelled five attacks by the enemy around Klyschyvka and Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, forces of defense continue to conduct storming operations south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating at achieved lines.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Tavria" on the Avdiivka direction, under air support, the enemy conducted unsuccessful storming operations around Avdiivka, Keramik, Stepole, Tonentsye, Severne in Donetsk Oblast. Here our warriors repelled more than 15 attacks by the enemy.

On the Mariinka direction, over the past day forces of defense repelled more than 15 enemy attacks around Mariinka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks north of Pryutne in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy four times attempted to restore lost positions around Robotino in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, without success.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces of defense conduct counter-battery fire, successfully striking enemy reserves and rear areas.

Forces of defense continue to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses on occupying troops in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In occupied Tokmak in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, parts of the population receiving Russian pensions are not having their payments processed. Also, the so-called "administration" does not allocate promised funds for window installation, facade repairs and building materials to compensate for damage caused by military actions. In the city almost no specialized doctors remain, medical care quality is extremely low.

In occupied village Lugansk in Donetsk Oblast, occupiers have set up a field hospital and stabilization center in the basement of Vuhlehirska Thermal Power Plant for enemy personnel arriving from the Bakhmut direction.

During the day, aviation of defense forces inflicted 15 strikes on areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, as well as one more strike — on an air defense missile system of the enemy. Also, our defenders destroyed a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.

Subunits of rocket troops hit two areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, two anti-aircraft systems, five artillery pieces of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day amounted to: 860 Russian occupiers, 17 tanks, 23 armored combat vehicles, 44 artillery systems, one multiple rocket launcher system, one aircraft, one helicopter, eleven tactical drones, twenty-two vehicles and five units of special equipment.
