To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 22.08.2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and fortieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against our state has begun.

Forces of Defense of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations on the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions.

In the direction of Robotino, they were successful, consolidated at the reached positions, inflicted artillery fire on identified targets of the enemy, carried out counter-battery measures.

On the Bakhmut direction, forces of defense continue to conduct offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut.

During the past day, the enemy inflicted two rocket and 43 air strikes, carried out 45 artillery attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were casualties among civilians. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.

The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the territory of Ukraine remains high.

During the past day, about 30 combat engagements took place.

On the Volyn and Polesie directions, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 20 populated areas. This includes Klyusy, Bleshnya, Karpovichi Chernihiv Oblast; Sydorivka, Volvino, Krasnopillya, Grabovskye, Popivka Sumy Oblast and Chervona Zorya, Veterinarnoe, Kozacha Lopan', Strilecha Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk direction, populated areas of Dvorichna, Synkivka, Kislivka, Berestove Kharkiv Oblast suffered from artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy inflicted air strikes in the areas of Tverdokhlibovo, Tor'skyi, Bihorivka and Serednyans'ke forest district Luhansk Oblast. Artillery shelling by the enemy affected about 15 populated areas, including Karmazinivka, Nevskoie, Kremen', Bihorivka Luhansk Oblast and Rozdolivka, Spirene Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Klitschivka Donetsk Oblast. Inflicted air strikes in the areas of Veseloye, Pryvil'ya and Kurdyumivka Donetsk Oblast. More than 20 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, among them — Pryvil'ya, Orhane-Vasylivka, Markove, Bogdanovka, Chasiv Yar, Klitschivka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka direction, under intense air and artillery fire, our defenders continue to hold back Russian troops in the area of Avdiyivka Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected populated areas of Oleksandrivske, Stepanove, Avdiyivka, Severne, Pereval'skoye, Nevels'ke Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka direction, forces of defense continue to hold back Russian troops in the area of Marinka and Novomikhailovka Donetsk Oblast. The enemy inflicted air strikes in the areas of Marinka and Novomikhailovka. Artillery shelling affected populated areas of Zelen'ne Drugoe, Krasnogorivka, Marinka, Pobeda, Yelizavetivka, Novomikhailovka Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy inflicted an air strike in the area of Staro-Majors'ke Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling affected Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrayinka, Velika Novosilka, Blahodatne, Urozhayeve Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhya direction, the enemy inflicted air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmak and Robotino Zaporizhzhya Oblast. More than 30 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, among them — Hulyaypilske, Charyvne, Yegorivka, Stepanove, Lobkove, Pyatikhatskye Zaporizhzhya Oblast.

On the Kherson direction, the enemy inflicted air strikes in the areas of Tomarino, Dacha, Zimyvnik Kherson Oblast. More than 25 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, among them — Novovorontsovka, Zolota Balka, Mykilske, Kherson, Kizomys, Sofiyivka Kherson Oblast and Ochakiv, Solonchaky Mykolayiv Oblast.

Russian invaders continue to actively engage in looting and mistreating Ukrainian peaceful civilians on temporarily occupied territories. Thus, troops of Russian occupiers from the republic of Buryatia of Russia arrived at the town of Tokmak Zaporizhzhya Oblast and systematically terrorize local residents by checking them for documents proving their right to reside in their own homes. If invaders find that residents do not have ownership or residence rights documents, they seize all property and housing under the guise of so-called «confiscation», as well as beat those citizens who express dissatisfaction and protest.

The Air Force of Defense Forces carried out six strikes on areas of enemy personnel concentration during the past day.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery inflicted damage to four command points, one area of enemy personnel concentration, weapons and military equipment, and three artillery systems of the enemy on firing positions during the past day.

Overall, Ukrainian soldiers liquidated 410 Russian occupiers in the past day, destroyed four tanks, 27 armored combat vehicles, 31 artillery systems, two MLRS, two air defense systems, three tactical drones, 30 vehicles and three units of special equipment.
