President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about his working visit to Sweden and an extremely despicable Russian strike on our Chernihiv.

"Dear Ukrainians,

Today we are working in Sweden, now finishing up the day in Stockholm. Weapons for our soldiers — this is the main priority. There are results, and they are very necessary results.

Armored vehicles — CV90, great machines. Exactly what we need on the front lines. Not just supply from partners — although we are accelerating that as well — but also production in Ukraine. Our production. New production. There is an agreement with Sweden to manufacture CV90s in our country. Everything powerful that serves us now, we must localize and produce. That's what we will do.

Secondly — this is "archers" for our artillerymen. Training of our boys in Sweden has already begun. A powerful system, a necessary system. We are working to have more of them in Ukraine.

Thirdly — modern aviation. We are very much trying to increase the capabilities of military aviation. This is one of the most difficult tasks, but I am confident — we will accomplish it. Today we have a breakthrough result regarding "griffins" — excellent contemporary Swedish combat aircraft. Our soldiers are already beginning to test them. And step by step, through negotiations after negotiations, we are approaching the point where "griffins" will appear in our skies. I spoke about this today with Mr. Prime Minister of Sweden and representatives of Swedish parliamentary parties. Thank you for understanding our needs! We are working on starting a training stage for our boys on "griffins". The details we will discuss.

Today there was a good and meaningful audience with the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Sylvia — I was there together with Olena. Grateful for support for Ukraine and our people, grateful for understanding what Ukrainians are going through now.

Today various leaders, representatives of states, international organizations condemned another extremely despicable Russian strike on Ukraine, on our Chernihiv. I am thankful to everyone in the world who expressed sympathy today to Ukraine and our people.

Unfortunately, seven people died in Chernihiv from a Russian missile, among them was a girl named Sofia, she was six years old. My condolences to her family... 144 injured and wounded, including 15 children. The missile hit right at the center of the city. And this — on the feast day of Transfiguration of Our Lord, an Orthodox holiday.

Rescue operations were conducted by a total of 140 people. Doctors, emergency services, military, local authorities — everyone helped. Thank you to each and every one who saved the lives of children and adults — all of them.

And I especially want to highlight paramedics from emergency services Lyudmila Kopish and Vyacheslav Prokhorenko, employees of DSNS Sergiy Kostenko, Vladyslav Sokolenko, Yuriy Ovrutskyi, Valeriy Morgatskyi, Oleksii Marchenko and Viktor Dovzhenko, as well as police officers Andriy Vovk and Andriy Zelyak. Thank you all!

I am confident — our soldiers will give a response to Russia for this terrorist act. A strong response.
