President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the need for principledness among global players in adhering to sanctions against Russia and his talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.
"I wish good health, dear Ukrainians!
Today we are celebrating Border Guard Day in Ukraine.
They were the first to engage the occupier on the eastern front, they firmly hold the border—from Volyn to Kharkiv—and they will definitely return to all points of our state border in Donbas and Crimea. There will certainly come a day when it will be completely normal for Ukrainian border control to operate at international airports in our Donetsk and Simferopol.
The occupier will not succeed in taking away from us the peace that is naturally part of the Ukrainian character. Peace and the desire for freedom—across all of our country, across all regions, cities, and communities—we will definitely achieve it.
I want to especially highlight our border guards today who together with all defense and security forces are protecting our state and people in battles on Donbas. The most brutal fronts—Mariupol, Bakhmut, Lyman… Thank you, soldiers!
Separately I would like to mention the fighters of the Lviv Border Guard Detachment who defend the Avdiivka direction. Very strong! Thank you!
Southern directions where our border units always effectively "minus" the occupier. Thank you! Thank you military servicemen of Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv detachments for protecting our border with a state-terrorist country! Thank you all who reinforce our border in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions!
I spoke with President Macron of France—as always, it was lengthy and substantive. We coordinate our positions—to give even more strength to our soldiers and to accelerate the end of the war with our victory. I am grateful to France and Emmanuel personally for supporting our state and people. In this conversation, Mr. President confirmed for Ukraine exactly what I had asked about in my previous conversation. Speed and specificity of response are very important; it greatly strengthens our capabilities. Thank you for this military package!
It is extremely important—that Russia receives stronger signals that the world will not forgive any manifestations of Russian terror. And so that as many global players as possible remain absolutely principled in adhering to sanctions against Russia for terror.
I thank everyone around the world who helps strengthen the isolation of terrorists and stop any supply of weapons to them, their components, who works to block Russian defense industry and to enhance defensive capabilities across all Europe.
Based on this week's results, I would like to especially thank our partners from Denmark—for "Caesar"; from Slovenia—for armored equipment; from Spain—for tanks; from Germany—for additional defense plans regarding armored vehicles and ammunition, for PPO…
Thank you America for funding in the amount of 1 billion 250 million dollars to support our budget and stability.
Thank you The Netherlands for parliament's decision on training Ukrainian soldiers on advanced Western systems. Thank you Italy for activity towards faster reconstruction of our state. Thank you Croatia for new help in treating our defenders injured in battle.
Certainly with maximum unity, maintaining maximum principledness to protect our shared values and executing defense agreements as quickly as possible— together—in Ukraine, Europe, around the world—we will be able not to let Russia drag out the war and restore a normal just peace.
Glory to all who fight for Ukraine!
Bright memory to all our heroes of different times who gave their lives for independence!
Glory to Ukraine!">
