The Ukrainian Football Association sent a letter to UEFA and the Turkish Football Federation expressing its outrage at the fact that, despite decisions by FIFA and UEFA, matches are being held involving Russian teams.

"During pre-season preparation periods, clubs in many countries play friendly matches, including representatives from Russia. According to information from open sources and the media, some of these games have recently taken place in Turkey. Unfortunately, such matches may continue to take place."

Given that the war continues, taking lives of Ukrainians both on the battlefield and in their homes, hospitals, kindergartens, and with the situation regarding this issue remaining unchanged by FIFA and UEFA, we assert that matches involving Russian teams are unacceptable, and the participation of members of the European football family in such organizations and directly in these games is a violation of UEFA regulations and undermines ethical principles and humanitarian values.

We appeal to you with a request to take measures towards all concerned parties to prevent further acts of disrespect and instances of sanctions violations, justly imposed by UEFA on teams from the aggressor country, as inaction or lack of response and punishment for their illegal actions encourages terrorists to continue."
