The Football House hosted the II Conference on Sports Law

The event brought together lawyers, representatives of sports federations, clubs, and athletes.

This year's discussions focused on the protection of athletes' rights, anti-doping rules, transfers, the activities of football agents, contractual matches, disciplinary practices of FIFA and UEFA, as well as legal decisions required by Ukrainian sports in the context of a full-scale war.

The conference was opened by First Vice President of the Ukrainian Football Association Artem Stoyanov and President of the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine Mykola Stecenko.

Sports have changed a lot in recent years, and along with it, the rules that govern its development are also changing. Today, around sports intersect the interests of athletes, federations, clubs, the state, business, and media. For Ukraine, the issue of neutrality remains particularly acute: war has shown that international sport does not exist separately from what is happening in the world — noted Artem Stoyanov.

In his speech, Artem Stoyanov also drew attention to the fact that Ukraine's experience should be taken into account when changing international sports rules. This applies to football as well — contracts, transfers, agents' work, ethics, and transparency.

Ukraine today should not just be a participant in this international discussion. We have our own experience, arguments, and the right to influence how these rules will change — emphasized Artem Stoyanov.

Participants paid special attention to lessons learned from the Olympic Games and current legal issues in football.

Head of the UAF Committee on Status and Transfers of Football Players Yevheniya Yershova spoke about reforming the institution of football agents and amendments to the UAF Regulation regarding their activities.

Head of the Ethics and Fair Play Committee Andriy Davydchenko focused on the specifics of investigating contractual matches and violations of ethical norms in football, while Secretary of the Appeals Court UAF Veronika Godlevska spoke about issues related to contract stability.

The conference concluded with a mini-interview "Dynamo" vs. "Shakhtar: About football and more." Head of the Control and Disciplinary Committee UAF Oksana Zalizko talked to General Director of FC Dynamo (Kyiv) Dmitry Bryf and Legal Department Manager of FC Shakhtar (Donetsk) Vladyslav Zaytsev-Terekh. They discussed sports disputes, interaction with FIFA and UEFA, as well as issues where even principled rivals need to unite their efforts.
