"Open Football Festivals" were held in Nevytske in Zakarpattia

A distinctive feature of this year's UAF project season in the region is that ZAF is organizing festivals entirely on its own.

The project is aimed at providing psychosocial support to children of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers, children of law enforcement officers, and war-affected children. It aims to promote social integration and an inclusive environment for all participants regardless of ability level or gender, including children with special educational needs. Key components include psychological support and training in minimizing risks from explosive ordnance, mines, and emergency situations related to the war.

Boys and girls participated at seven locations, not just purely "football" ones. Representatives of the State Emergency Service and explosive ordnance disposal service acquainted children with mine safety rules, police officers told about the consequences of violating traffic rules, and specialists from the regional center for emergency medical assistance taught basic first aid skills. Psychologist Diana Sember from ZAF showed children how to cope properly with stress and reduce anxiety, and a football quiz was also conducted for participants. A separate location worked specifically for children with special educational needs and disabilities — since September, an inclusive section has been operating in Onokivka community on a permanent basis.

Additional enthusiasm for the event was provided by lively movement before activities and a performance by a local dance group. In the finale, children received pizza and ice cream, gifts, diplomas, and unforgettable impressions, while community schools received balls from ZAF.
