In the training program approved by the head of the UAFA Referees Committee, Kateryna Monzul, referees who will officiate women's and professional men's football club matches participated.

The first to start the preparation were officials for women’s competitions. The educational-training camp led by Mykhail Ovchar took place in Lviv from July 8th to 11th. Fourteen referees and twenty-six assistant referees took part in it.

The program of the camp included studying changes to the Rules of the Game for the 2026/2027 season, a detailed analysis of refereeing from matches of the previous season, testing knowledge of the Rules of the Game, as well as completing a FIFA physical fitness test.

The next stage of preparation was an educational-training camp for officials of Second League PFL matches held from July 12th to 14th, 2026 at the Kyiv Football House. Yurii Mozharovs'kyi was responsible for organizing and conducting the camp.

During the training, participants familiarized themselves with the latest changes to the Rules of the Game, analyzed refereeing from matches of the spring part of the Second League PFL championship and discussed current issues related to preparation for the new season.

Special attention was given to the introduction of the video assistant referee system (Football Video Support, FVS) in First League PFL competitions. The head of the UAFA Referees Committee, Kateryna Monzul, outlined prospects for developing this area and emphasized that Second League referees will be involved in working with matches using FVS as fourth officials.

All participants successfully passed tests on knowledge of the Rules of the Game and completed FIFA physical fitness test requirements.
