Head coach of Ukraine's U-17 national team Oleksandr Sitnik has announced the names of players born in 2009 who will prepare for the first round of qualification matches for the UEFA European Championship 2026 (U-17). The matches will take place in Tallinn from October 1 to 7.

Composition of Ukraine's U-17 National Team

Goalkeepers: Oleksandr Stepanov («Shakhtar» Donetsk), Denis Stolyarenko («Legia», Poland), Dmitro Pogar («Dynamo» Kyiv).

Defenders: Nazar Smotrytskyi, Roman Shupik (both — LNZ Chernihiv), Markian Panchevshyn («Karpaty» Lviv), Denis Plyminskyi («Gajduk», Croatia), Illia Yablonskyi («Sporting», Portugal), Oleg Pilypiuk («Shakhtar» Donetsk).

54 teams were divided into 12 groups of four participants and two groups of three participants. The host nation for the final tournament, Estonia's national team, will also participate in the qualification rounds.

Based on the results of the first round of qualifications, 14 group winners and 14 teams finishing second will advance to the second round in League A. The remaining 26 teams will compete in the second round in League B.

Teams advancing to the second round of qualification in League A will compete for seven spots at the final tournament of Euro 2026 (U-17) in spring 2026. Estonia, as the host nation, has received an automatic berth. It should be noted that this qualifying round is also a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup 2026 (U-17) in Qatar.

Moreover, teams from both leagues of the second qualification round will compete to promote and demote between leagues before the first round of Euro 2028 (U-19) qualifications.
