Today, September 6th, the Ukraine U-18 national team (players born in or after 2008) played their second match at an international tournament in Sweden.

After a crushing victory over Norway (6:1) in their first game, the blue and yellow team today faced the hosts of the tournament — the Swedish team. The match took place under constant rain on quite difficult terrain, but as early as the 12th minute, Dmytro Zudin responded to a precise pass from Artem Zubriy with a header goal. The Swedes replied with several sharp attacks, yet our goalkeeper Rostyslav Baglai played exceptionally well. In the first half's injury time, Mykita Melnyk picked up the ball after a set piece and effectively scored — 2:0.

The second half began with active actions from Vladimir Samorukov's wards who at least twice had opportunities to increase their score, but lacked accuracy in the final phase. After this, the game calmed down somewhat and only towards the end did our team experience several nerve-wracking moments, but they maintained their lead.

So, 2:0 — a victory for Ukraine's national team. The next match at the tournament will be against Denmark on September 9th (kickoff — 18:30).
