Today, September 4th, the Ukraine U-18 national team (players born in or after 2008) played their first match at an international tournament in Sweden.

The opponent for the blue and yellow team was Norway. The Scandinavians started better, and as early as the fifth minute, David de Ornelas scored from inside the penalty area to open the scoring. However, eight minutes later, the Ukrainians equalized. Oleksandr Sereda cut in from the right flank into the Norwegian penalty area and fired a shot into the far corner — 1:1. And on the 29th minute, our team took the lead. Illia Kut'ya delivered an excellent long pass to set up Dmitro Zudin one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who didn't hesitate — 2:1.

Immediately after halftime, the blue and yellow team scored again. After a pass from Oleksandr Sereda, Artem Zubrui finished off the long ball in the penalty area. On the 89th minute, Zudin scored Ukraine's fourth goal, completing his brace. And with just two minutes remaining, Zubrui followed suit by also scoring twice to complete his brace as well. The match ended on the fourth minute of stoppage time when Zakhar Zakarkiv scored.

So, 6:1 — a convincing victory for Ukraine's national team. Our next match at the tournament will be against Sweden on September 6th (kickoff at 5 PM).
