"We deserved more than just one point. Unfortunately, we couldn't execute well in the opponent's penalty area. Sometimes we rushed, sometimes we could have made better decisions, and other times the goalkeeper saved them or we missed the target.
Regarding the game, we fully controlled it, created chances, and dominated, but unfortunately, we didn't score and have this result.
Northern Ireland is a team that relies on their physical qualities, on fighting, on long passes. They may not be as skilled with the ball, but they are tough to play against. Plus, the artificial turf requires some adaptation.
We tried to win, even at the cost of injuries and knocks, pushing until the end. We made substitutions, refreshed the game, and became more reactive in the attack in the second half.
Of course, we missed Ponomarenko and Krevsun today. They are our key players. Matviy is our top scorer, and Danylo is one of the leading midfielders. With them, we would have been stronger. But we have to accept this result, move on, and prepare for the next match," Mykhailenko noted.
