On March 20, Ukraine learned its opponents for the football tournament at the 2024 Olympics. Placed in the fourth pot, it drew Argentina, Morocco, and the third team from Asia in Group B. The blue-and-yellow team will play their group matches on July 24, 27, and 30.

The first opponent for our team in a match that will take place on July 24 in Lyon is the third team from AFC. This team will be determined based on the results of the 2024 Asian Cup among U-23 teams in Qatar. The winner of this tournament will be announced on May 3 in Er-Rayan, and a day earlier in Doha, the bronze medals will be contested. Its victor will have the status of Ukraine's first Olympic opponent in football history.

In the Asian Cup, which starts on April 15, sixteen national teams will participate (Group A—Qatar, Australia, Jordan, Indonesia; Group B—Japan, South Korea, UAE, China; Group C—Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Thailand, Tajikistan; Group D—Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kuwait, Malaysia). One of them, Japan, played a friendly match against Rotsan's wards in March and lost 0:2.

The format of the Olympic tournament is traditional: four groups with four teams each, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, a match for third place, and a final (September 9, Paris, "Parc des Princes").

We remind you that last summer, defeating France (3:1) in the quarter-final of Euro-2023 (U-21) and securing a place in the semi-finals, our team achieved an historic success — it secured Ukraine's first-ever participation in the football tournament at the Olympics. Along with Ukraine, Spain and Israel also earned Olympic licenses for this discipline through the 2023 U-21 Euro.

As of now, twelve participants are already known for the men's football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will take place from July 24 to August 9 in seven cities across France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Nice, and Nantes. According to the regulations, players born after January 1, 2001 are eligible to participate. Additionally, each team can include up to three players who are older than this age.

In total, sixteen national teams will compete in the tournament: France — as hosts, three representing Europe (Ukraine, Spain, Israel), three from Africa (Morocco, Egypt, Mali), three from Asia (to be determined by May 3), two from South America (Paraguay, Argentina), two from CONCACAF (USA, Dominican Republic), one from Oceania (New Zealand), and the winner of the playoff between the fourth-placed teams in Africa (Guinea) and Asia.
