To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on January 29, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The seventh hundred and fifth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore laws and customs of war, employs tactics of terror, carries out missile and air strikes, and shelled both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

During the past day, 74 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out seven missile and ten air strikes, conducted 86 shelling operations from multiple rocket launcher systems against positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Educational facilities, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

During the night, Russian occupiers carried out another attack using eight Shahed-136/131 drones. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all enemy drones.

Air strikes hit Krasnyy Hutyr in Chernihiv Oblast; Rozhkovychi in Sumy Oblast.

More than 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Northern and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy attacks near Sinkyvka and east of Pyskan, Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Lyman direction Ukrainian fighters repelled six attacks by occupiers in the areas of populated places Terne and Yamopolovka, Donetsk Oblast.

In the Bakhmut direction, defensive forces repelled four enemy attacks near Bogdanivka and Ivanivske, Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavriya" on the Avdiyivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiyivka. Our fighters firmly hold their defense, inflicting heavy losses on aggressors. Thus, defensive forces repelled 21 enemy attacks near Ocheretino, Novobakhmutivka, Stepanovo, Avdiyivka and five more attacks near Perevomayskoye and Nevelskoye, Donetsk Oblast during the past day.

In the Mariupol direction Ukrainian fighters continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiyevka, Pobedy, Novomykhailivka, Donetsk Oblast where 22 attacks were repelled.

In the Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our fighters repelled an attack by occupiers north of Pryyutne, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, defensive forces continue to undertake measures for expanding the foothold. Despite heavy losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. Thus, during the past day, the enemy carried out eight unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, our fighters inflict casualties in manpower and equipment on occupation forces through active actions, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of defensive forces carried out strikes against six areas of concentration of enemy personnel. Also, air defense forces of Ukraine destroyed one guided air-launched missile Kh-59.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted blows on one artillery system and one radio-electronic combat station of the enemy.
