President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the need to hold Russia accountable on all levels and our priorities for the coming weeks.

"Dear Ukrainians,

Another week of this war and our active actions, our defense is ending. Since the beginning of just today alone — there have been nearly 60 battles. The most intense ones — in the Avdiivka direction, also in Bakhmut, Mariupol, Kupyansk, and the south of our country. There were over 50 Russian artillery strikes only from multiple rocket launchers, as well as dozens of air and missile attacks.

On this single day alone, Russian thugs shelled more than a hundred cities, towns, and Ukrainian villages in nine regions — from Chernihiv and Sumy to Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad. Particularly brutal Russian strikes — on Donetsk. Sadly, there are wounded, there are fatalities. My condolences to all who have lost loved ones...

For the entire duration of this terror, Russia will be held accountable — must answer for it. Without Moscow's decisions to start this aggression, this terror, thousands and thousands more people would still be alive today. And that is why it is so important to hold Russia accountable on a full scale, justly at all levels. Individually — so each war criminal answers, each terrorist. And at the level of an entire state-terrorist — its assets and capabilities.

Russia must feel and remember forever that it loses most from aggression itself. I am grateful to everyone who brings Russia closer to accountability in all ways — military, sanctions, legal, political.

And we have already determined our Ukrainian priorities for the coming weeks. Clearly see the tasks — regarding packages that strengthen our positions on the front line, and regarding political interaction with partners, and what is needed for Ukraine's financial stability.

A special focus — this is the European Union, relations with nearest neighbors. We are preparing more interaction and new communication, important new meetings.

I am grateful to all who believe today that Russian terror will lose just as last year, in 2022. Everything that strengthens Ukraine and protects our people adds strength to everyone in Europe and around the world who values international law. Everything that weakens Russia and brings the war home to Russia adds stability to international relations, saves the world from even greater crises.

I thank all those who fight and work for Ukraine! I thank all those who save Ukrainian lives!
