President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, informing about a new missile strike by Russian invaders and about air defense systems that have already saved at least hundreds of lives.

«Dear Ukrainians,

On January 2, 24th year — another strike by Russian invaders. Almost one hundred missiles of various types. At least seventy were shot down. Of those, nearly sixty in the Kyiv region. Harsh strikes also hit Kharkiv…

The aftermath is being dealt with now. Sadly, there are fatalities. My condolences to all loved ones and relatives. Many have been affected. All receive necessary assistance.

I thank the employees of Ukraine's State Emergency Service, police officers, doctors — everyone who helps people.

Our Air Forces, anti-aircraft troops, mobile firing groups — I thank you, guys.

And I thank everyone around the world who is helping. 'Patriots', 'Iris-Hs', 'NASAMS' — each such system has already saved at least hundreds of lives. And for every life taken by Russia, they will answer.
