On December 27, the registration committee meeting took place at the House of Football to establish the credentials of delegates and the quorum for the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF). The committee summarized the election of UAF members as delegates to the congress and established the congress quorum.

A working group meeting to verify the eligibility of candidates for the position of president of the UAF, nominated for election at the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the UAF on January 25, 2024, took place on December 28.

During the meeting, it was established that all permanent members of the Ukrainian Association of Football who have the right to nominate candidates for the position of president of the UAF submitted protocols from their governing bodies regarding this issue. In all protocols, the candidacy of Andriy Mykolayovych Shevchenko (date of birth — 29.09.1976) — winner of the "Golden Ball" in 2004, Hero of Ukraine, and recipient of the "National Legend of Ukraine" award – was proposed for the position of president of the UAF.

The working group concluded that Andriy Shevchenko's candidacy meets the requirements and criteria established by the Statute of the UAF for candidates running for election as president of the UAF. Additionally, according to the Statute of the Ukrainian Association of Football, a written consent from the candidate was received for participation in the presidential elections.

Thus, Andriy Shevchenko is the sole candidate nominated for the position of president of the UAF at the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the Ukrainian Association of Football.

The results of the committee and working group meetings were reported to FIFA and UEFA, which regularly receive information about the preparation for the UAF Congress. 

By decision of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football, the extraordinary XXVI Congress of the UAF will take place on January 25, 2024, at the House of Football (Kyiv), starting at 12:00.
