Note for your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on December 28, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and seventieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terrorism tactics, carries out missile and air strikes, and shells both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

Over the past day, there were 56 combat engagements. In total, the enemy carried out one missile strike and 77 air strikes, conducted 51 shelling of our troops' positions and populated areas with multiple rocket launchers. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Last evening, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using five Shahed-136/131 drones. Our defenders destroyed four combat drones. Also today, the aggressors carried out another air strike with three Shahed-136/131 drones. All enemy drones were destroyed.

Air strikes hit Ivanivka in Kharkiv region; Seriyevskoye forest district in Luhansk region; Spere, Novomikhailivka, Zolotaya Niva in Donetsk region; Orikhiv and Preobrazhenka in Zaporizhzhya region; Chervonyy Mayak, Zmiyivka, Dudchany and Novoberislav in Kherson region.

Artillery fire affected nearly 130 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsya" on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine enemy attacks near Sinkyvka and east of Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.

On the Lysychansk direction defensive forces repelled three attacks in the Seriyevskoye forest district of Luhansk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through our troops' defense.

On the Bakhmut direction our soldiers repelled two attacks near Bogdanivka, Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavriya" on the Avdiyivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiyivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on the aggressors. Thus, over the past day, our forces repelled 15 attacks east of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiyivka, as well as 17 attacks near Severnyy, Pervomaysky and Nevelsky in Donetsk region.

On the Marinka direction defensive forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Novomikhailivka, Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled three attacks.

On the Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhya direction defensive forces repelled three attacks west of Verbovskoye and Robotino in Zaporizhzhya region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. Thus, over the past day, the enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful assault operations on defensive forces' positions and received a worthy rebuff.

At the same time, Ukrainian defense forces continue active actions inflicting losses in manpower and equipment to the occupiers along the entire front line.

Over the past day, our aviation carried out strikes on 10 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and two anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket forces struck five areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, two command points, six ammunition depots and two artillery systems of the enemy.
