Announcement of the lineup for Ukraine's women's national team for October's Nations League matches against Greece

On October 27 and October 31, the women's national team of Ukraine will play two matches in the group stage of the inaugural UEFA Nations League tournament.

Volodymyr Pyatenko's wards will face the Greek team twice. Both away and nominal home matches for Ukraine will be held on the island of Crete, at the "Theodoros Vardinoyannis" stadium in Heraklion. Both games will start at 17:00 (local time is the same as Kyiv).

To prepare for these matches, the head coach of Ukraine's women's national team has called up 23 players, reports the official website of the Ukrainian Women's Football Association.

Goalkeepers: Kateryna Samson ("Vorskla" Poltava), Daria Kelyushyk ("Kryvyi Rih" Kryvyi Rih), Kateryna Boklach ("Marseille", France).

Defenders: Kateryna Korsun, Yana Kotik, Iryna Podolska, Marina Shainyuk (all — "Vorskla" Poltava), Anastasiia Voronina ("Kolos" Kovalevka), Lyubov Shmatko ("Galatasaray", Turkey), Yana Derkach ("Fomghet", Turkey).

The training camp for the Ukrainian team will begin today, October 23 in Heraklion.

How will the matches in groups take place?

All group stage matches will be played according to the usual format — home and away against each opponent in the group. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss.

Who will drop out? Who will play in promotion/relegation matches?

League A

The top two teams in each group remain in League A for the European qualification of the 2025 Women's Euro.

Four teams that finish third will play against second-placed teams from League B groups. Winners will stay in League A; losers will drop to League B.

Teams finishing fourth will drop to League B.

League B

Four group winners advance to League A.

Four teams that finish second will play against third-placed teams from League A. Winners will stay in League A; losers will drop to League B.

Three best teams finishing third will play against three best teams finishing second in League C. Winners will remain in League B for the European qualification; losers will drop to League C.

The team with the lowest ranking among those that finished third, and four teams that finished fourth, will drop to League C.

League C

Five group winners advance to League B.

Three best teams finishing second will play against three best teams finishing third in League B. Winners will remain in League B for the European qualification; losers will drop to League C.

Other teams stay in League C.

Matches for promotion/relegation

Pairs are drawn and matches are played home and away. Teams finishing third in their groups are seeded and play the return leg at home.
