Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 9, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The one hundred ninety-third day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

Russian occupiers continue to ignore international humanitarian law, shelling not only Ukrainian positions but also civilian infrastructure in populated areas, terrorizing peaceful residents.

Forces defending Ukraine are continuing defensive operations on the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, consolidating their positions at the lines they have reached.

During the past day, 37 combat encounters took place. In total, the enemy carried out six air strikes and conducted 29 artillery attacks on the positions of our troops and civilian objects in our country.

Air raids hit Grabove in Sumy Oblast; Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast; Novodanilivka, Robotyne, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Berislaw in Kherson Oblast.

More than 90 populated areas in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts were under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Severnian and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled three enemy attacks near the populated areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman direction forces defending Ukraine repelled four enemy attacks around Makieyevka in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction our defenders repelled attacks by the enemy north of Bogdanivka, Klyshchyivka and Andriyivka.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Tavria" on the Avdiivka and Mariupol directions, the enemy carried out approximately 15 unsuccessful attacks in the areas around Avdiivka, Mariupol, and Novomikhailivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not conduct any offensive or assault operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction our defenders repelled an attack by the enemy north of Novoprokopivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Forces defending Ukraine continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, achieving partial success around Verbove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Ukrainian forces also conduct offensive and assault actions on the Bakhmut direction, achieving partial success near Klyshchyivka and Andriyivka. Our defenders inflict losses on occupying troops, consolidate their positions at lines they have seized and exhaust the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces defending Ukraine conduct counter-battery battles, destroying depots and successfully targeting the rear of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Forces defending Ukraine carried out three strikes on areas where personnel reserves, weapons, and military equipment are concentrated.

Subunits of rocket troops damaged three artillery systems, two radar stations, two areas with personnel concentrations, and two ammunition depots of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy during the past day amounted to: 350 occupiers, two tanks, three armored combat vehicles, one artillery system, one air defense weapon, and two cars.
