UAF referee and volunteer neurosurgeon, who survived Russian captivity, Dmitry Kubryak, at the invitation of the management of Kyiv Gymnasium No. 191 named after P. G. Tychyna, conducted an open lesson for students in grades 9-10 and their teachers. The meeting was dedicated to Ukraine's Defender Day.

At the students' request, Dmitry shared his story of being in Mariupol in March 2022, when he flew there with other volunteer medics in a gyrocopter to help wounded soldiers. He also talked about his capture and subsequent trials that befell the defenders of Mariupol, as well as his return from captivity.

"This may seem strange, but I was very nervous before this meeting. I have never been as nervous for any of the numerous interviews with Ukrainian or foreign media. I felt a great responsibility, but it was really nice that the children showed tremendous interest in our conversation and asked many questions. The impression after such an exchange is very positive and inspiring," — admitted Dmitry Kubryak.

To support the sports movement in the gymnasium and as a good memory of the meeting, representatives from UAF presented senior students with balls. The pleasant conclusion to the event was group photos with students and teachers.
