To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on October 8, 2023 regarding Russia's invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The one hundred and ninety-second day of large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

Forces of the Ukrainian Defense continue to conduct defense operations on the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine, offensive operations on the Melitopol direction, and offensive actions on the Bakhmut direction, destroying the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions on the achieved lines.

Yesterday, Kremlin terrorist troops carried out additional missile strikes against civilian objects in the cities of Chornomorsk, Odesa region; Mirhorod, Poltava region; and Peresychne, Kharkiv region.

During the past day, 68 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out eight missile strikes, 34 air raids, and conducted 37 artillery attacks on both our military positions and civilian objects in Ukraine. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there were casualties among civilians. Damage was inflicted upon grain storage facilities at port infrastructure, buildings in recreational zones, multi-family and private residential houses, vocational technical schools, and other civilian infrastructure.

Air raids hit Stepne, Sumy region; Kupyansk, Petro-Pavlivka, Kurilivka, Pyskanе Kharkiv region; Novoluhove, Bihorivka, Luhansk region; Katerynivka, Spirene, Klitshiivka, New York, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Antonivka, Vodyane, Volodine, Donetsk region; Pryyutne, Zaporizhzhia region; and Vilkove, Odesa region.

More than 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were subjected to artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «North» on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the North and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our forces from redeploying to threatening sectors, and increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks around the populated areas of Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction forces of defense repelled six enemy attacks in the area of Makieyevka, Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to restore lost positions around Andriivka, Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Tavria» on the Avdiyivka and Mariinka directions, the enemy carried out more than 20 unsuccessful attacks around Avdiivka, Pervomaisk, Mariinka, Krasnogorivka, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsky direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled close to 10 enemy attacks around the populated areas of Vodyane and Zolotaya Niva, Donetsk region.

Forces of defense continue offensive operations on the Melitopol direction and offensive (storming) actions on the Bakhmut direction. They achieved partial success north-east of Andriivka, Donetsk region. Our soldiers inflict losses on occupying forces in manpower and equipment, consolidate their positions on occupied lines, and exhaust the enemy.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Odesa» on the Kherson direction, forces of defense conduct counter-battery fire, destroy ammunition depots, and successfully target the rear of the enemy.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out eight strikes against areas where personnel are concentrated, weapons, and military equipment, as well as five — on air defense missile systems of the enemy. Our defenders also destroyed four tactical drones.

Subunits of rocket forces targeted artillery means, areas with personnel concentration, and a radar station of the enemy.

Overall, the enemy lost: 580 occupiers, 21 tanks, 21 armored combat vehicles, 17 artillery systems, one air defense system, five tactical drones, 38 automobiles, and three units of special equipment.
