To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 4, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twenty-seventh day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against our country has begun.

During the past day, the Russian Federation carried out an attack on Ukraine using Iranian combat drones of the Shahed type. Our air defense destroyed all 15 enemy drones. The enemy also launched one missile strike, conducted 57 aerial attacks, and carried out 29 shelling operations with multiple rocket launchers against our positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes on all territories of Ukraine remains very high.

During the past day, nearly 40 combat engagements took place.

On the Volynian and Polissian fronts, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi fronts, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Veterinarian, Kharkiv, and Veseloye in the Kharkiv region. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling on more than 40 populated areas, including Karpovichi, Timonovichi, and Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Sopich, Kucherivka, Pavlivka, Myropillya, Krasyapolia in Sumy Oblast, and Huryiv Kozyak, Vishcha Yaruga, Vovchansk, Varvarivka, and Bologivka in Kharkivshchyna.

On the Kupyanskyi front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes near Petro-Pavlivka and Kislyvka. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy affected Figolivka, Dvorichna, Kupiansk, and Kucherivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman front, populated areas of Nevskoye, Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirene, Torske in Donetsk Oblast were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.

On the Bakhmut front, defensive forces are holding back the enemy towards southeast of Ivanivske. The enemy carried out aerial strikes near Chasovo Yar, Ivanivske and Druzhba. Over 15 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Klyshchyivka, Predtekhine, and Pivnichne in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiyivka front, the enemy carried out an aerial strike near Avdiyivka. Conducted unsuccessful offensive actions north of and southeast of Avdiyivka and southeast of Pervomaisk. Artillery shelling affected Stepanove, Lastochkine, Avdiyivka, Pervomayske, and Nevelskoye in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka front, defensive forces continue to hold back Russian troops' advance near the town of Marinka. The enemy carried out aerial strikes near Krasnogorivka and Marinka. Conducted shelling on populated areas such as Krasnogorivka, Gostre, Maximilianiivka, Georgiyivka, Marinka, and Novomikhaylivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes near Makarivka and the village of Rivnopil. The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions west of Staryy Mayorovskiy and east of Urozhaynoye. Artillery shelling affected Vremivka, Rivnopil, Novoselki in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the enemy carried out aerial strikes near Uspenivka and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The enemy is concentrating its efforts to prevent further advance of our troops. Over 20 populated areas were subjected to artillery shelling, including Levadne, Hulyaypole, Novoandriyivka, Mali Shcherbaki, Stepanove, Stepnogirsk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On the Kherson front, the enemy carried out an aerial strike near Odradokamyanka. Over 20 populated areas were subjected to artillery shelling, including Shevchenkivka, Respublyanets, Berislav, Sadove, Kherson and Dniprovskoye in Kherson Oblast and Dmitrivka and Ochakiv on the Mykolayivshchyna.

At the same time, defensive forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations on Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, consolidate on achieved lines, carry out counter-battery measures.

In temporarily occupied Enerhodar for the continuation of work at Zaporizhzhia NPP, occupiers force personnel to obtain Russian passports, threatening with repression. Thus, in the city, occupation troops conduct regular searches of local residents both on streets and in apartments. They check passports and phones. If a citizen's passport turns out to be Ukrainian, it is destroyed and they are forced to apply for a Russian passport. Occupiers force people to change other documents: driving licenses, papers on movable and immovable property.

The aviation of the defensive forces carried out nine strikes against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy during the past day and two — against anti-aircraft missile systems of occupiers.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery over the past day hit 12 artillery means on firing positions, one radar station, one command post, three areas of concentration of personnel, two air defense means, and three ammunition depots of the enemy.

Overall, during the past day our soldiers liquidated 640 Russian occupiers. The enemy lost four tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, 19 artillery systems, one anti-aircraft missile system, 27 tactical drones, 20 cars and three units of special equipment.
