The head coach of "Prykarpattia" Oleg Ripan commented on the official website of the UAF about what helped his team to overcome Lviv's "Karpaty" (2:1) in the second qualifying round match of the Ukrainian Cup:

— I had information that «Karpaty» were traveling to Ivano-Frankivsk with a reserve squad. However, since the main group of players from «Prykarpattia» are currently in the infirmary due to injuries, we also had to field reserves, and thus both teams were roughly on equal footing. In particular, Andriy Bobynets has never before guarded the goal for «Prykarpattia» in official matches. I believe that he, along with his teammates, showed their best side. When Glib Popchuk scored a penalty to give us a 1:0 lead, we could have confidently declared the winner, but «Karpaty» put up a strong defense and the tension only subsided with the final whistle.

It is also worth highlighting local football graduate Yurka Radulskyi who scored a brace.

What's next? Of course, it would be nice if the third round match were to take place in Ivano-Frankivsk. If we win, perhaps luck will smile upon us again and we'll face a team from the top division. «Prykarpattia» has a lot of young talent, and such an encounter would bring them great benefit.
