To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on August 1, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The two hundred and twenty-fourth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore laws and customs of war, using tactics of terror, striking both military and civilian targets.

Over the past day, the enemy carried out nine missile strikes and 57 air raids, conducted 61 attacks with multiple rocket launchers on our positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries among civilians, including children. Residential buildings have been destroyed.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes across the territory of Ukraine remains very high.

Over the past day, more than 40 combat engagements took place.

On the Volynian and Polesian Directions, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobodian Directions, the enemy carried out an air raid in the areas of Stepnoe, Sumy region, and Udiev, Kharkiv region. Conducted mortar and artillery shelling of more than 30 populated areas, including Senkivka, Tyrya, Bleshnya, Buchky, Chernihiv region; Mehotdiyevka, Sitne, Starikove, Mogrytsia, Stepok, Riasne in Sumy region and Udiev, Veterinarnoe, Starytsya, Vovchanske, Nesterne, Budarki in Kharkiv region. In the territory of Chernihiv region, an attempt by a reconnaissance group of the enemy to cross Ukraine's state border was stopped. The enemy suffered losses and retreated.

On the Kupyansk Direction, our soldiers firmly hold their defense, successfully repelling attacks east of Berestove in Kharkiv region and near Novoselivskiy in Luhansk region. The enemy carried out an air raid in the area of Druzhelyubivka. Conducted artillery and mortar shelling of more than 10 populated areas, including Otradne, Kolodyazhne, Kamyanke, Figolivka, Novomlynskiy, Zapadne Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman Direction, the enemy carried out air raids north of Seredynka and near Spirnyy in Donetsk region. Artillery shelling was suffered by populated areas Novoselye, Bihorivka Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnyokamyanske, Spirne on Donets.

On the Bakhmut Direction, our troops continue to conduct offensive actions south of the city of Bakhmut. Over 10 populated areas suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Rozdolvka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Predtekhine and White Hill in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivka Direction, the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of New York and Avdiyivka. Continues shelling populated areas, including Berdychi, Avdiyivka, Pervomaisk and Karlivka Donetsk region.

On the Marinka Direction, the enemy carried out an air raid in the area of Krasnogorovka. Defensive forces continue to hold back Russian troops' advance in the areas of Marinka and Victory. The enemy conducted artillery shelling of populated areas, including Marinka, Victory, Georgiyivka and Gostro Donetsk region.

On the Shakhtarsk Direction, the enemy carried out air raids in the areas of Vuhledar, Blagodatnyy and Staromayorskoye. In the latter area, he made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions. Continues shelling populated areas Vodyane, Vuhledar and Blagodatne Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhya Direction, the enemy concentrates its efforts on preventing further advance of our troops. Occupants carried out air raids in the areas of Malynivka and Maly Tokmak Zaporizhzhya region. Artillery shelling was suffered by more than 15 populated areas, including Levadne, Hulyaypole, Zaliznychnye, Orikhiv, Stepenovskiy, Kamianskyye Zaporizhzhya region.

On the Kherson Direction, the enemy maintains military presence. Artillery shelling was suffered by more than 25 populated areas, including Dmitrivka and Ochakiv Mykolayiv region; Mikhailivka, Dudchani, Berislav, Lvov, Kherson and Dniprovskiy Kherson region.

At the same time, Ukrainian defensive forces continue to conduct offensive operations on Melitopol and Berdyansk Directions, consolidate on achieved lines, continue fire strikes against the enemy.

Russian occupiers continue to use civilian infrastructure in temporarily occupied settlements. Thus, in the premises of a coal miners' sanatorium in Nizhny Nagolychok Luhansk region, the enemy deployed about 100 Russian servicemen; in populated area Semikozivka Luhansk region, over 100 occupiers were stationed in educational institution buildings.

The aviation of defensive forces carried out seven strikes against areas of concentration of personnel of the enemy and three — against air defense missile systems of the enemy during the past day.

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery over the course of a day destroyed five air defense missile systems of the enemy, heavy multiple launch rocket system TOS-1A "Sunburn", five artillery means on firing positions, two stations of radio-electronic warfare, ammunition depot and five areas of concentration of personnel of the enemy.

Overall, during the past day our soldiers liquidated 500 Russian occupiers. The enemy lost five tanks, 17 armored combat vehicles, 23 artillery systems, two means of air defense, ten tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, 32 vehicles and three units of special equipment.
