We would like to remind you that by defeating France (3:1) in the quarter-finals of Euro 2023 (U-21) and securing a place in the semi-finals, Ukraine's youth national team achieved an historic success — they earned for our country the right to participate in the football tournament of the Olympics for the first time.

Along with Ukraine, Spain and Israel also secured their spots at the Summer Games 2024 from Europe through the Euro 2023. Days later, three delegates from Africa were also announced after their Nations Cup among U-23 teams. Morocco, Egypt, and Mali received invitations.

Thus, as of today, nine participants in the men's football tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games are already known; they will compete from July 24 to August 9 in seven cities across France: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Saint-Étienne, Nice, and Nantes. According to the regulations, players born after January 1, 2001 can participate in the games. Additionally, each team may include up to three players who are older than this age.

In total, sixteen teams will take part in the tournament: France — as hosts, three teams representing Europe (Ukraine, Spain, Israel), three — Africa (Morocco, Egypt, Mali), three — Asia (to be determined in March 2024), two — South America (selection periods not yet confirmed), two — CONCACAF zone (USA, Dominican Republic), one — Oceania (to be decided in September 2023), and also joining them is the winner of a playoff between fourth-placed teams from Africa (Guinea) and Asia.

The format of the Olympic tournament follows tradition: competition in four groups with four teams each, where two top teams advance to the knockout stage, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place match, and final (September 9, Paris, "Parc des Princes").

We add that Brazil is currently the reigning Olympic champion in football among men's national teams, having won against Spain (2:1) in the final at Tokyo-2020.
