July 2, Ukraine's youth national team defeated France (3:1) in the quarterfinal match of Euro-2023 (U-21), not only securing a spot in the semifinals but also for the first time in history earning the right to participate in an Olympic football tournament for our country.

In connection with this, requests are coming to the address of the Ukrainian Football Association from media outlets regarding who will coach the national team during the 2024 Summer Olympics in France.

We remind you that on December 22, 2022, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the UAF took place, at which, among other things, personnel issues were considered.

In particular, then, taking into account the successful completion of set tournament tasks and considering the proposal of the National Teams Committee of the UAF, the executive committee approved the decision to extend the contract with head coach of Ukraine's youth national team U-21 Ruslan Rotan. The protocol of the meeting also noted: "In case of a successful performance at Euro-2023, i.e., obtaining an Olympic license, the contract provides for an option for automatic extension until the end of the 2024 Olympics, the European representation in which will be determined during Euro-2023."

Thus, after completing the Euro-2023 (U-21) cycle, Ukraine's youth national team (players born in 2000 and younger) acquires Olympic status, prepares for the 2024 Olympics under Ruslan Rotan's leadership. However, according to the regulations, in the tournament, players who were born after January 1, 2001 can participate. Each team may include up to three overage players in their squad of 18.

In contrast, the next cycle of the continental youth championship, Euro-2025 (U-21), which will see our opponents as England, Serbia, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg in qualification starting from September 2023, will be led by a new coaching staff for a new Ukraine youth national team (players born in 2002 and younger).
