Today, the wards of Mykola Kostenko and Oleksandr Korniychuk started in Poland at the III European Games. In the first group stage match, they faced Italy's team.

Our national team began brilliantly and already on the 5th minute were leading — 2:0 thanks to goals by Yurii Shcheritsa and Yaroslav Zavorotnyi. However, the Italians quickly recovered and responded with a goal from Francesco Sk'iacchi. But just before the first break, Oleg Zborovsky once again restored our two-goal lead.

However, in the second 12-minute period, Luca Bertakka narrowed the gap for "Squadra Azzurri" again, and at the start of the third Emmanuele Zurlo equalized the score — 3:3. Moreover, just a minute later, Bertakka put Italy ahead. However, Ukrainians did not give up, and Andriy Borsuk scored our team's fourth goal from the penalty spot, while Andriy Pashko almost immediately followed with the fifth. In the final minutes, the teams exchanged goals by Maxim Viotko and Marco Jordan.

So, 6:5 — victory for Ukraine's national team.
