Until mid-April, the club season-2022/2023 for Ukrainian defender Danil Ignatenko of French Bordeaux was standard.

Almost a guaranteed spot in the starting lineup, plenty of playing time, two goals, an assist, and the usual crop of yellow cards. But after April 15th, something changed. The Ukrainian lost his place in the starting eleven and only once in the last six matches did he make it into the first eleven.

What happened is probably known only to the coaching staff and the player himself. Perhaps this was just a coincidence, and Ignatenko will return to his spot in the Bordeaux lineup next season, as the team failed to achieve its main goal of securing a place in the country's top division.
