The head coach of Ukraine's women's beach soccer team, Yuriy Klimenko, spoke about the results of training camps in Poland and Portugal and future plans for preparation for the III European Games.

From June 1 to 10, Ukraine's women's beach soccer team held a training camp in Gdansk and Nazaré. During this period, the blue-and-yellow team played four friendly matches—two against Poland (3:0, 3:2) and two against Portugal (3:4, 3:3, on penalties—2:3). The head coach of the Ukrainian team, Yuriy Klimenko, summed up the results of the camp.

"We conducted several good training sessions where we worked through many tactical aspects. Everyone gave their all, so there are no complaints about the girls. We prepared for two friendly matches against Poland's national team, in which, in my opinion, they played very well."

Then we flew to Nazaré, and on the next day a control match was scheduled. Of course, it would have been better if we had had a couple of days for preparation, but that's how things turned out. We didn't quite have enough time. However, we got to see two more players who joined us in Portugal—Babenko and Dubytska.

As for the picture of the game, there are no comments. They clearly executed all instructions and concepts that we worked on in Poland. The start of attacks, set plays—all was good. We looked even better than the Portuguese, dominating both offensively and defensively, but conceded some unnecessary goals and lacked goal-scoring opportunities. However, we created them—both from play and from set pieces—so a lot came out on the field. Overall, the camp turned out to be very productive," said the head coach of Ukraine's women's national team.

The coach also spoke about future plans for preparing the team for the III European Games in Poland.

"Currently, we have given the girls a week off. After that, on June 20, we will gather in Kyiv and continue our preparation. We plan to play a control match against boys from the second league of Ukraine's championship on the 22nd. Our biggest problem is that we cannot work together as a full team. Some girls are still playing championships abroad, and not everyone can make it back to our country. They join us directly in Krakow for the European Games. So there is some imbalance with training permanent quartets. But no worries—we will work hard and go to the tournament with good spirits. On June 25 and 26, we will already be in Poland for short pre-tournament trainings and then start," said Yuriy Klimenko.

As a reminder, in the group stage of the European Games in Poland, Ukraine's women's beach soccer team will play in Group B alongside Spain and Italy. In another trio, Poland, Portugal, and Czech Republic will compete. The games will take place from June 27 to July 1 in Tarnów.

According to the competition rules, women's national teams at the group stage will play a round-robin tournament, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. The losers will compete for 5th and 6th places.
