President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi addressed the nation, outlining our priorities for the near future and emphasizing the need to maintain the dynamics of international support and communication.
"I wish you good health, dear Ukrainians!
Just held a meeting of the military cabinet. This is our special format of work in a narrow circle with those responsible for defending the state. Commanders of key front sectors were present, as well as the head, General Staff, intelligence, and security. Very meaningful work.
First: defense brigades - great job, main strategic tasks have been completed, details will be communicated later.
Second: offensive brigades - great job, preparations are underway, no details for now.
Third: regarding the protection of civilian citizens. Air forces - great job, here with details. Our priorities for this week, next week and in general for the near future - additional air defense systems, additional missiles, training and aircraft, long-range weapons. And it will be.
Today I also held a thorough meeting with our international team - the Office staff. The task is to maintain the dynamics of international support and communication achieved in the first half of May and these weeks for Ukraine's sake. I am confident that we will accomplish this task.
I had the honor to visit the Crimean Platform office and meet with Mustafa Dzhemilev, leader of the Crimean Tatar people, representatives of the Mejlis and the Crimean Tatar community.
Today and every year on May 18, we commemorate the memory of all victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people. This was one of the most severe crimes of the twentieth century - an entire nation forcibly removed from their homeland to live abroad for decades. And when people returned home, Russia once again brought its evil to their home, our Ukraine - the evil of aggression, repression, and humiliation.
To restore justice for all our people, guarantee freedom for the whole of our state without any exceptions - this is our historical task. The task of everyone who defends the country, everyone who chose Ukraine, thus securing victory.
I am pleased to see that the Crimean Platform we created effectively directs the joint power of the entire state and the Crimean Tatar people. I am glad to know that our work with the Mejlis is bringing results needed by Ukraine.
By the way, some very important joint steps are being prepared for the near future. The issue of Crimea, Crimean prisoners, and all our people in Crimea will be raised to a new international level.
And one more thing.
Today many Ukrainians were wearing vyshyvankas. This is important - to remember what wealth unites us all. Ukraine is diverse, and in this lies our strength, which was visible throughout the day in various embroidery patterns.
But now I ask you all to recall those Ukrainians who are literally - our strength with you, our defense with you. Many of our people were not wearing vyshyvankas because they are in military uniforms. I ask you now to remember everyone fighting for Ukraine. All on combat missions and posts for Ukraine. Those training our fighters for Ukraine. Those you know personally, those you have heard about, and thousands more who all equally protect the life of Ukraine - please recall them now and thank them.
We also never forget about those of our people whom the occupier holds in captivity. About the deported Ukrainians, about those repressed on occupied territories. Those waiting for our flag to return in occupied cities and communities. We must free all our people and our land from Russian captivity.
We act together, united, caring for each other and for the state, and we will not stop until victory is achieved.
Thank you to everyone who helps!
Glory to all fighting for Ukraine!
Eternal memory to all victims of Russian tyranny!
Eternal memory to all victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people!
Glory to Ukraine!">
