To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 23.04.2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and twenty-fourth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, the Russian Federation carried out eight missile strikes, 37 air raids, and conducted approximately 45 artillery attacks on our positions and populated areas. There are casualties among civilians, with private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure being destroyed or damaged.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes across the territory of Ukraine remains high.

Main efforts of the enemy are concentrated on conducting offensive operations on the Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol axes — 58 attacks by the enemy were repelled. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Mariupol.

On the Volyn and Polesie axes, the operational situation — no significant changes.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi axes the enemy carried out an air raid on Orlikove during the day, and shelled populated areas of Karpovychi and Hotyivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Ulanove, Bruski, Stukalivka, Volfinne, Korenyvka, and Yunakivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Timofiyevka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk axis enemy artillery shelling affected Novomlynivsk, Zakhidne, Masutivka, Synkivka, Kyslivka, and Beresteve in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman axis the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. Artillery shelling affected Makieyivka, Nevske, and Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast, as well as Dibrova, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Spirene in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut axis fierce battles continue for the city of Bakhmut. Near populated areas of Hryhorivka, Khromove, and Ivanivske, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions. The following suffered from enemy shelling: Rozdolvka, Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Hryhorivka,  Bogdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, Dilievka, Zalizne, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, and New York in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Avdiivka axis during the day the enemy conducted offensive actions near Novokalinovo in Donetsk Oblast, without success. He shelled, among others, Novokalinove, Stepole, Avdiivka, Tonenne, Perevomayske, and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol axis during the past day our defenders repelled enemy attacks near Mariupol. In addition, enemy shelling affected Krasnogorivka, Georgiyevka, and Novomikhaylivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk axis during the past day the enemy shelled Vuhledar, Prechystyvka, Novoukrainka, Zolota Niva, and Velika Novosilka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes the enemy continues to conduct defensive operations. During the past day he carried out mortar and artillery shelling of over 30 populated areas. Among them — Vremivka, Zelenoye Pole in Donetsk Oblast; Hulyaypole, Zalizhnytsne, Hulyaypilske, Bihor'ya, Mala Tokmacha, Novandriyivka and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Sablukivka, Berislav, Kozatske, Tokaryvka, Ingulets, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, Bilyzberka, Berehove, Kizomys on the Khersonshchyna and the city of Kherson.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out eight strikes against areas where occupiers are concentrated during the day.

Also shot down an enemy Mi-24 helicopter and four UAVs (two reconnaissance — "Orlan-10" and Zala, as well as two kamikaze drones of the type "Lancet").

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery during the day affected four areas of enemy troop concentration, two ammunition depots, and another two important military objects.
