Note to your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 17, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred eighteenth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, Russian occupiers carried out 25 missile strikes with S-300 air defense systems on peaceful cities in Zaporizhzhia, Komyshevka in Zaporizhzhia region, and Snihurivka in Mykolaiv region, as well as 42 aerial attacks. The enemy conducted 46 artillery shelling of our troops' positions and infrastructure in populated areas. There are casualties among the civilian population; multi-story and private residential buildings, civil educational institutions, hospitals, churches, and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.

The Russian aggressor continues to use a tactic of terror; the likelihood of missile and aerial strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy suffers heavy losses but continues to concentrate its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariupol directions. It actively uses operational-tactical and army aviation in these sectors. The epicenter of combat actions remains Bakhmut and Mariupol. During the day, our soldiers repelled over 60 enemy attacks on designated front sections.

On the Volyn, Polesie, Sever, and Slobozhansky directions, no signs of forming offensive groups by the enemy have been detected.

A comprehensive readiness check of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus is ongoing.

During the past day, Russian occupiers shelled populated areas in Svesa, Shaligino, Buniakyne, Bilyipil, Iskriskivschina, Shpil, Volvyno, Yunakivka, Basivka, and Velyka Pysaryvka in Sumy region, as well as Veterinarnoe, Neskuchoe, Ogircevo, Vozychanske, Bochovoe, Mala Vozychane, Zemlyanka, and Topoli in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy shelled populated areas of Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, and Kindrashivka in Kharkiv region.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near the village of Hryhorivka to the north and around Sporino. Artillery shelling was carried out on Steblyakhivka, Nevske, and Bihoryvka in Luhansk region and Ivanivka, Sporino, and Toriske in Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to conduct offensive actions. Fighting for the city of Bakhmut does not cease. The enemy conducted unsuccessful attacks around Khromovoye and Ivanivskiy. Affected by enemy shelling were Vasyukyvka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Novodmytrivka, Pivnichne, Plyshevykva, and Shcherbinivka in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiyivka direction, the enemy conducted offensive actions around Novokalynovo, Severnyy, Vodyany, Pervomaysky, and Nevelsky. He shelled over 15 populated areas, including Novokalynove, Avdiyivka, Tonikhe, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, and Netaylove.

On the Mariupol direction, our defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the area of Mariupol village in Donetsk region. At the same time, enemy shelling affected Krasnogorivka, Mariupol, Georgiyivka, Maximilianske, Pobeda, and Novomikhaylivka.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, during this day, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions. He shelled populated areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrayinka, Velyka Novosylyka, and Veremivka in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is defending. During the day, he shelled over 40 populated areas, including Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk region; Chervone, Charivne, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka, and Stepole in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Kozatske, Lvov, and Mykilske in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.

The aviation of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out five strikes against areas of enemy personnel concentration and a surface-to-air missile complex during the past day.

Also shot down four enemy drones (two — type "Orlan-10", one reconnaissance "Eleron" and one kamikaze drone "Lancet").

Subunits of rocket troops and artillery struck a command post, surface-to-air missile complex, area of enemy forces concentration, ammunition depot for propellant and pyrotechnic materials, and two ammunition depots of the occupiers.
