To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on April 5, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The fourth hundred and sixth day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against our state has begun.

During the past day, the enemy carried out three missile strikes and 47 air raids, including the use of 17 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the "Shahed-136" type. Fourteen of them were destroyed by our defenders. The enemy also conducted 42 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers. There are casualties among civilians.

The high probability remains for missile and air strikes across Ukraine, as the enemy continues to use a tactic of terror.

The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on conducting offensive operations on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka axes — more than 60 attacks by the enemy were repelled during the day. The epicenter of combat actions remains Bakhmut and Marinka.

On the Volyn, Polesie, North, and Sloboda axes the operational situation — no significant changes, signs of forming offensive groupings by the enemy have not been detected. Certain units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to perform tasks in border areas with Ukraine. The Russian Federation continues to use airspace and territory of the Republic of Belarus, its military infrastructure. Enemy units remain present in border areas of Kursk and Belgorod regions. During the day, the enemy shelled settlements of Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Seredina-Buda, Bachivsk, Volvynne, Zapyslyia, and Myropillya in Sumy region, as well as Veterinarnoe, Strilecha, Pishchane, Ogireve, Vovchansk, Rublene, Dvorichanske, and Topoli in Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk axis enemy shelling affected Masutivka, Kupyansk, Kamianka, and Pereshotravneve in Kharkiv region, as well as Novoselivske and Krokhmalne in Luhansk region.

On the Lyman axis during the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in areas south of Kremennoe and Sporin. Over 20 settlements were subjected to artillery shelling, including Stelemahyvka, Torske, Severne, Rozdolivka, and Spirene in Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut axis the enemy is trying to take full control of the city of Bakhmut and continues its assault on it. Occupants also conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bogdanivka, which is located in Donetsk region. Units of the Defense Forces repelled close to 30 attacks by the enemy during this period. Over 15 settlements were affected by enemy shelling, including Vasylkivka, Minkivka, Orhihov-Vasylivka, Novomarkevychi, Bakhmut, Chasoyme, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Pivnichne, and Shumy in Donetsk region.

On the Avdiivka and Marinka axes the enemy conducted offensive actions in areas of settlements Novokalynove, Severne, Perevomayskoye, and Marinka in Donetsk region without success. At the same time, the enemy shelled populated areas of Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Perevomayskoye, Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka, and Marinka.

On the Shakhtarsk axis the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. For correcting artillery fire actively used UAVs. Shelled populated areas of Pobeda, Novomikhaylivka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Velika Novosylyka in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson axes the enemy continues to strengthen its defensive capabilities. Conducted shelling of over 30 populated areas. Among them — Novodanylivka, Orhiiv, Shcherbaky, Maliy Shcherbaky in Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Zmiivka, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Ivanivka, Dniprovske in Kherson region, as well as the city of Kherson.

In Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, Russian occupiers continue to exert psychological pressure on local residents by distributing leaflets about their evacuation to Russia. They are frightening people with a future offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In Velyka Kardashivtsi, Kherson region, due to the movement of heavy equipment of occupiers around the populated area, almost all local residents have been restricted from entering and leaving. People are forbidden to leave their homes. Document checks and mobile phone inspections have been intensified.

The aviation of the Defense Forces carried out ninety strikes during the day on areas of enemy personnel concentration and military equipment. Also, a Russian high-precision UAV of the "KUB" type was shot down.

Units of rocket forces and artillery, in turn, inflicted damage to three command points, two areas of live force concentration, two multiple rocket launcher systems BM-21 "Grad", and an enemy radio-electronic combat station.
