On February 28, the youth national team of Ukraine (players born in or after 2006) began a training camp for their participation in the elite round of qualification for Euro-2023 (U-17). Today, in the second half of the day, the team will travel by bus to Romania and then fly to Cyprus, where the matches will actually take place. In addition to the tournament hosts, the blue-and-yellow team will also face teams from Italy and Ireland. The matches will be held in the Cypriot city of Paphos on the Municipal Geroskipou Stadium and the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium.

For this training camp, head coach of Ukraine's national team Yurii Moroz invited 20 football players.

In the elite round, 32 teams were divided into eight groups whose matches will take place in March. At stake is 15 spots at the final tournament, which will be held from May 17 to June 2 in Hungary. The eight group winners and seven second-place finishers with the best results advance to the finals along with the host country.

As a reminder, in the qualifying round of Euro-2023 (U-17), Ukraine's youth national team under Yurii Moroz's leadership secured first place in their group, outperforming teams from Azerbaijan (5:2), Liechtenstein (7:0) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (1:1).
