President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about supplying our soldiers with ammunition and forming new brigades of the National Guard, police, and border guards.
"I wish health to all dear Ukrainians!
Today I held another meeting of the General Staff. Many issues were discussed. The key one — actions on the frontline. In Donetsk and other directions. Special attention — Bakhmut. Our defense. Attempts by the occupier to encircle the city and break through its defenses. We are resisting.
I thank every soldier whose steadfastness ensures resistance!
Today, I would like to highlight soldiers of the 54th and 93rd separate mechanized brigades, as well as the 15th separate battalion of the 128th mountain assault brigade. Thank you, soldiers, for your bravery and unyielding spirit! For the steadfastness that Ukraine needs so much.
We also discussed today at the General Staff the supply of our soldiers with ammunition. Artillery — this is one of the key factors. The Chief of General Staff, commanders of sectors reported as usual. The head of intelligence briefed on the current plans of the occupier.
We are also strengthening our management positions. In a number of regions — border ones especially and frontline ones — we are appointing leaders with military experience. Those who can demonstrate themselves most effectively in defense against existing threats. I will inform about each such decision.
Overall, it is worth noting that we will be combining the experience gained by our people in defending Ukraine — military experience — with specific management work on positions in local and central government.
Today I heard reports about the situation in Odessa, the region's situation — regarding the liquidation of consequences of an energy accident. All services are working, all officials, everyone involved.
Repair work has already yielded part of the necessary result, there is supply of generators and power equipment to the region and city.
As of now, in a significant part of the Odessa region, there are blackouts. We are doing everything we can to provide people with electricity. Once again, thank you everyone involved in this work.
Today we received very sad news from Turkey and Syrian territory. A powerful earthquake occurred there. Many dead. Thousands of houses destroyed.
My sincere condolences to President Erdogan of Turkey, as well as those in the Syrian community who lost loved ones, who lost their homes.
Ukraine responded immediately and offered Turkey support for conducting a corresponding rescue operation.
And one more thing.
The formation of new brigades of the National Guard, police, border guards — "Guardians of Advance" is ongoing. The start was strong. Continuation will follow. I thank everyone who showed interest in forming the brigades. Thank you to all those applying.
Good motivation plus good training equals the ability of our defense and security forces to return Ukraine its own.
Glory to all fighting for Ukraine! Glory to everyone working for our country! Glory to all who help!
Today, by the way, we have a very significant decision from Norway. A five-year aid package for our state — 75 billion Norwegian kroner.
This is a huge contribution to the victory we are preparing. A joint victory of all who truly value freedom and value life.
Thank you to everyone in Norway, and especially to Mr. Prime Minister!
Thank you to all our partners!
Thank you, people of Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!"
