In 2023, the women's national beach soccer team of Ukraine will participate in at least three major tournaments. The official website of the Ukrainian Football Association shared the plans for preparation and goals for the season with our coach Yurii Klimenko.

"We plan to assemble the team around May 15th. I hope we can organize a one-week training camp in Poland or Turkey. We will invite not only players from the main squad but also potential candidates for the national team. I have added five more players to the list because last year, we had some issues with our lineup. We want to see new faces at the training camp. If nothing works out abroad, we'll train in Kyiv," said the coach of our team.

The most important competitions this season await the Ukrainian national team during summer. First, they will test their skills at the 2023 European Games in Krakow from June 26th to July 1st. Then, from July 5th to 9th, our team led by Yurii Klimenko awaits a qualifying tournament for EuroLeague-2023.

"Ten days before the European Games, we will have a general training camp where we'll invite all girls who can be relied upon both at this tournament and in EuroLeague. The season starts with games in Krakow, followed by a qualifying EuroLeague-2023 tournament in Nazaré right after three days. After that, we plan to take a rest of three or four days in Kyiv before another training camp for the World Beach Games," emphasized the coach.

Then, the Ukrainian women's team will participate in the II World Beach Games from August 6th to 12th on Bali Island, Indonesia.

"On July 27-28, we plan to arrive in Bali for a five-to-six-day adaptation camp. This is an entirely different time zone with specific climatic conditions. After that, we'll return to Kyiv and if we advance to the final stage of EuroLeague, we will travel to Sardinia where we will compete for medals," highlighted Yurii Klimenko.

Thus, the official season for the women's national team may end with the final stage of EuroLeague from August 23rd to 27th.

"Besides these competitions, we theoretically might participate in an international exhibition tournament in Greece and, as last year, in Neom Beach Soccer Cup in Saudi Arabia. Last year, we actually played there with a second team. This year, if invited, we'll go with a more balanced lineup to fight for victory.

As for general goals for the season, our team is moving towards maximum tasks gradually. Previously, our newly formed national team was warming up in EuroLeague competitions, last year we tasted the taste of first victories over top teams and achieved set goals for the season, and this year, with a balanced lineup and no obstacles to quality training camps, the goals will only be higher," noted the coach.
