President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, speaking about the farewell to those whose lives were taken by the helicopter disaster in Brovary.

"Ukrainians! Ukrainian women!

Today was a long day — work decisions, international communication, various issues that deserve attention and reaction.

But I want to say only about one thing now.

I don’t feel like talking for long.

Today there was a farewell to those whose lives were taken by the helicopter disaster in Brovary.

Denys Monastyrskyi, his colleagues from the ministry — Yevhen Yenin, Yuri Lubkovych, Tetiana Shutyak, Mykhailo Pavlyshko, Mykola Anatskyi, Andriy Marinchenko… The men of the crew — Oleksandr Vasylenko, Konstantyn Kovalenko, Ivan Kasianov… A woman and a child who were simply walking to kindergarten this morning… Mother Olena, daughter Milana Ponomarenko…

My condolences to all relatives and close ones… It hurts to think about it, it hurts to say now.

Denys was a professional, genuine person, exactly the kind of person who should be an interior minister. We lose people every day whom we will always remember and regret that they cannot return.

Ukrainians, patriots, professionals, and simply loyal individuals to their country — you can’t bring them back.

I would like for all of us to feel this today. To feel how many lives, how many bright people the war takes away. I want us all to honor their memory today…

Bright memory to all whose lives were taken by this war! Bright memory to all who gave their life for Ukraine!

We are doing everything we can to drive this war out of our land.

Glory to Ukraine!"
